OU commitment Hardrick transferring to Putnam City
University of Oklahoma basketball commitment Kyle Hardrick has transferred from Norman to Putnam City. Hardrick moved into the Putnam City district in late May and has participated in summer league games with the Pirates.
"I want to go to state,”
Hardrick said of the reason for transferring. "I want to win.”
Norman finished 9-14 last season. Putnam City was ranked No. 1 in Class 6A for most of last season.
Hardrick, a 6-foot-7, 233-pound forward, played his freshman season at Lawton Eisenhower before transferring to Norman for his sophomore and junior seasons. The senior is ranked No. 125 in the Rivals top 150 for 2009.
In addition to his desire to win, Hardrick wanted to play with his good friend and Athletes First teammate Xavier Henry, who is one of the country's top recruits.
"I've wanted to play with Xavier for a while,”
Hardrick said. "It's a better situation for me. I'll get more exposure.”
